Meet the Librarian

Greetings, Cardinals!

I’m Ms. Gomes, and I am so excited to be your new librarian! I look forward to welcoming students and their families into our beautiful new library and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.

My goal is to make the library a central part of our school—a place where students want to spend time, discover new interests, ask questions, explore new ideas, and challenge themselves to grow as readers. I love working with students, listening to their thoughtful questions and creative ideas, and helping them find the books, resources, and answers they need.

I bring a "fun aunt” vibe to everything I do and believe that learning should be engaging, exciting, and sometimes a little silly! You’ll often find me getting enthusiastic during storytime, leading creative projects, or finding new ways to make the library a place students look forward to visiting.

This is my fifth year working in an elementary school library. Before becoming a librarian, I taught Dramatic Literacy, and I’m excited to bring my love of theatre and creativity to the library as well. I plan to incorporate theatre and other fun activities during recess throughout the year.

I can’t wait to get to know the Canyon Creek students and families and work together to build a vibrant, welcoming, and successful library program. I’m looking forward to an amazing year of reading, learning, creating, and exploring together!
